It was a real pleasure this morning to do assembly and see the sea of red in front of me! As a school, we believe it is important to teach the children about the kindness of supporting charities and so we are very grateful to all who have contributed to Comic Relief today. Thank you!
Staff News
I am sad to share with you all that both Miss Woods and Miss Adams will be leaving Galley Hill at the end of this term. Parents of children in Sapphire and Diamond are already aware of this. I am sure that you will all want to join me in wishing them well in their new roles.
From Easter, Ms Handel will be teaching 2 Diamond from Monday to Thursday. Miss Featherstone will be their teacher on a Friday, while Miss Barnes teaches 2 Pearl.
Our existing Year 5 team (Miss Lewis, Miss Reardon and Mrs Pullen) will be teaching across the two Year 5 classes. We will also be welcoming Miss Kelly as a new teaching assistant at Galley Hill to support in Year 5 for the Summer Term, along with Mrs Harris.
As Nursery parents are already aware, we are delighted to share that Mrs Meggitt is expecting her second child later in the Spring. From Easter, Mrs Parsons will teach Team Amber on Monday to Thursday and Ms Handel will continue to teach the children on a Friday.
Calendar
One of the comments for governors at Parents Evening was that the dates for the Year 3/4 Performance were shared quite late. I apologise for this. We do set the dates for all performances, sharing assemblies, Sports Day etc at the start of every school year and these are all available from September on our website calendar: Galley Hill Primary School and Nursery - Calendar
Sharing Assembly
Many thanks to Team Sapphire for a fantastic sharing assembly on Thursday. Our next sharing assembly will be shared by Reception Turquoise on Thursday 3rd April. Parents and carers wishing to attend should come to the school office at 9am. The children will share some of their learning with you all in the hall and then there will be the opportunity to briefly visit the classroom as well afterwards.
SEND Parent Coffee Morning
Our next SEND parent coffee morning will take place on Friday 28th March from 8.55am until 10am with Miss Elsey and Mrs Reynolds. Part of this meeting will be used to discuss our therapeutic approach to behaviour at Galley Hill. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits. We look forward to seeing you there.
