This Week’s Learning

We will begin learning about Mini Beasts this week.  We will be finding out what we already know.  We will be reading non-fiction books and identifying Mini Beasts.  We will also be looking at the similarities and differences between non-fiction (information) and story (fiction) books.  

Nursery Rhyme of the Week

Our rhyme this week is:

Maths

• We will be looking at different ways of representing numbers. For example, using Numicon, dice, objects, and so on.  
• We will also be learning about number 7.  We will be using the Number blocks 6 to introduce the children.  Here is the link. Numberblocks - Series 2: Seven - BBC iPlayer.
• We will also be thinking about counting accurately.  This will focus on touching each object once when we count and putting objects in a line to help us.  

Phonics

In Phonics, we will be learning our Basics 2 sounds.  Please check out my Tapestry memo all about it.  Our next set of sounds will be o, c, k. 

Library

Library will be on Monday.  Please ensure your child has their orange reading book and their library book so we can change it.  We will also be changing their Wordless reading books.

Weekly Parents Sharing Book Session 

On a Monday we will be having our Weekly Parents Sharing Book Session. 

Times are: 8.30–8.45am and 2.55pm - 3.10pm.  In the nursery classroom. 

Please note: Pudding Lane will be open at 2.55pm for you.  

Don't forget Friday 23rd May is an INSET and school is closed.  We will see you after half term on Monday 2nd June.
